TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A staff of the Shambhala Travels & Tours will meet and assist you at the airport and provide transportation to the hotel if requested in advance. Upon arrival, a traveler’s orientation devised by the company’s western advisors will be presented.This orientation concerns healthcare precautions and ethnic customs in order to keep travelers healthy and safe during their visit to the East.

Insurance:
   Travel insurance can be purchased by the client at either the point of origin or through Shambhala Travels & Tours.

Cancellation & Refund:
   Any change, alteration or re-routing of the itinerary should be communicated to us immediately. If the tour is cancelled 45 days prior to commencement date, 90% of the deposit will be refunded. The deposit will not be refunded if cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to commencement date.
   There will be a cancellation fee of 25% for any cancellation three weeks prior to Tour departure date, 50% two weeks prior to Tour departure date and no refund thereafter. No refund for no shows & delay arrivals whatsoever reason.

Booking terms conditions & visa arrangements:
   Confirmed reservation should reach us 1 month prior to Tour departure date along with 50% Non-refundable deposit per person or according to special negotiations made.

PASSPORTS:
Passport valid for at least 8 months required by all.

VISAS:
Required by all.

Restricted and protected areas:
   Certain parts of the country have been designated protected or restricted areas that require special permits and in some cases prior government authorisation which is easily obtained. Intent to visit a specific restricted region should be indicated when applying for a visa and a permit will be granted to visit that region only. Passengers are advised to check with India Tourism for up-to-date information before departure.
The following states are subject to some restrictions: Assam, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal.

Application requirements:
(a) Passport valid for up to 8 months. (b) Completed application form. Nationals of Pakistan and Bangladesh must complete special application forms; nationals of Sri Lanka, UK nationals with dual nationality or of other origin, and other special cases, may be required to complete additional application forms. Personal interviews in some cases may also be necessary. (c) Two passport-size photos. Nationals of Pakistan will require five. (d) Fee (postal orders or bank drafts only). (e) Stamped addressed special delivery envelope. Business (a)-(e) and, (f) A letter from their employer stating the reason of the visit and an invitation from the company in India and a letter of introduction from UK company addressed to the Embassy. Transit (a)-(e) and, (f) Proof of onward travel. Student (a)-(e) and, (f) Proof of admission to appropriate university/educational institution.

Currency restrictions:
   Import of local currency is prohibited. Export of local currency is also prohibited, except for passengers proceeding to Nepal (excluding notes of denominations of Rs100 or higher), Bangladesh, Pakistan or Sri Lanka (up to Rs20 per person). Foreign currency may be exported up to the amount imported and declared. All foreign currency must be declared on arrival if value is over US$5000, and when exchanged the currency declaration form should be endorsed, or a certificate issued. The form and certificates must be produced on departure to enable reconversion into foreign currency. Changing money with unauthorised money changers is not, therefore, advisable.

Group size:
   For group tours the usual ideal amount of people is between 10-16 persons. ”More people cost less, less people cost more”.

Liabilities & Force Majuere :
   Shambhala Travels & Tours gives notice that they act only as agent while undertaking tours, transportation, hotel accommodation and any other client services, with the express understanding that the company, while exercising every possible precaution, is in no way responsible or liable for any injury, accident, damage, death, loss, additional expense, delay, any change and alteration in the itinerary due to unavoidable circumstances, such as landslides, road blockage, flood, snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrival, sickness or accidents, inconvenience or any other irregularity caused in connection with the execution of client services arranged by Shambhala Travels & Tours, its agents or employees.

   Any extra cost incurring thereof shall be borne by the client on the spot. It is most advisable for clients to have full insurance against medical and personal accidents. Cancel insurance is also highly recommended.
