The majestit
Mt. Chomolangma (Everest) with an altitude of 8,848.13
metres, is located in the middle section of the Hiamalayas
in southern Tingri Country of Tibet. The mountain, together
with its many sister peaks (4 above 8,000 meters and 38
above 7,000 metres) are known as the Third Pole on the
Earth. Our Trek begins with an excursion in Lhasa. Then
we drive to gyantse, Shigatse and Tingri via Sagya Monastery,
the seat of the Sagya School of Tibetan Buddhism. Sagyapas
and its reigning lamas ruled Tibet for nearly 100 years.
It enshrines many priceless ancient cultural relics, such
as Buddhist statues, thankas, images, gold written scriptures
and porcelain items. We spend two nights at Shishapangma
Base Camp.
